toshiba sattelite 1905 laptop, xp service pack 2, pentium 4, 512 mb ram...here is the problem. i get two dll errors at startup 1. C:\WINDOWS\CFGMGR51.DLL and 2. AUNPS2.DLL specefied module could not be found...i went to a dll site and downloaded these. the laptop is infected with viruses. the dvd drive has a yellow circle with an exclamation throught it in device manager. i know this deals with the driver but it can not be re-installed, i tried in safe mode too. i contaced thoshiba and they were not helpful. i want to get the dvd drive to work so i use the recovery cd's. any suggestions as what i should do. i downloaded the dll files but what do i do from there? thank you

These are both malware related when found in your startups and you don't want them on your system.

i got rid of the AUNPS2.DLL error by editing the registry. i dowloaded the CFGMGR51.DLL file from a site and i need to open it. i extracted but what program do i use to run it? here is where i found it http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?cfgmgr51 i just dont know what to do from here. is this the reason why my dvd drive is not recognized in "my computer"?

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1022474609 check this out if your drive is missing. worked great. be sure to delete the upper and lower filters on the right panel only. you can search microsoft.com and look for this: CD-ROM access is missing and messages cite error Code 31, Code 32, Code 19, Code 39, or Code 41 after you remove Easy CD Creator in Windows XP i also got rid off the cfgmgr51.dll error by downloading PCR rescue v3.0. i am now going to use the toshiba recovery cd's.
