Browser Hijack

Hi

I'm having a very serious browser hijack infection. I can go directly to web aites from favorites. If I search I cannot go the site of interest. Or I see randwom Internet Explorer windows open up.

Here are some specs:

Windows XP, Service Pack 2.
Ran Malware Bytes, Super Anti Spyware - they show no errors - full scan.

Ran GMER and it shows possible RootKit behavior.

I also keep getting a persistent ASMagent.exe Unhandled Exception error.

Need help quite desperately.

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Thank you for replying. I will post a separate note about what has worked. I realized a lot of other folks were complaining about the same problems I had. Upon reading upon the solutions provided, the one suggested by Teacup1 to use TDDSKiller worked.
However, as you recommended, I will post on what I have done.
