So i got this laptop back in june and of course everything worked fine when i tried to install games and what not. Now a couple months later my disk drive doesn't read disk right...Like ok for example i'm trying to install GTA SA when i do so it reads the disk as if i put like a usb drive in where is says open folder to view files which is wrong it should be saying i think run where as if i click run it would just install the game you know? Is there a way i can fix this problem?

Ok cool thanks im really not sure if i can describe it in a different way basically when i put games into my dvd drive it's reads the disk like if its a flash drive like where it says open folder to view files then you see whats all on the flash drive but rather it being a flash drive its the disk (GAME) usually when you put the game into your computer the game will load up the autorun thing pops up then you click run then the game would either install or start up if its installed.

Most game sites or the box the game came in will usually give instructions if this happens. The work around usually involves right clicking the drive containing the disk > open > then double clicking the install file on the disk. The install file you are looking for will vary in name so I can`t tell you the exact name you are looking for.

EDIT: looks like the game is not compatible with your OS.

Sorry for that

WARNING!!! This suggestion involves editing of the registry. Improper editing of the registry can cause your computer to become unbootable. ALWAYS backup your registry before modifying the registry.

To backup your registry, create a System Restore point. Alternatively, you can use the free utility ERUNT to create backups of your registry: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

For more information about modifying the registry, see this Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/256986

See here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/01/14/autoplayautorun-not-working-or-missing-not-open-in-windows-vista/
It's for Vista, but it should be the same for Win 7.
