I would like to connect my laptop wirelessly to my home theater widescreen tv located in an adjacent room in my house. Is this doable? If so, request what equipment I need. The tv can be used as a monitor with wired/cable connection (HDMI or HD15 cables), but I don't want to be dragging my laptop from one room to another to hook up to the tv. Nor do I want to route cables thru walls. The primary reason I want to use this configuration is to show Powerpoint presentations, or other photo/video formats stored on my hard drive, on the wide screen tv. I have no need to surf the web or use email in this mode.

If I understand correctly, my issue is not an internet one. I have successfully connected my HT Blu-ray player to the web with my Linksys wireless router. However, the available websites are restricted to specific ones, like Netfliz, YouTube, etc and do not offer connection to a remote pc.

FYI, my equipment: computer - Dell Studio XPS laptop, Vista Home Premium 64 bit, 6 Mb ram, Intel Centrino 2 @ 2.9, WI-FI, Bluetooth dongle for wireless mouse
Periperals* - Linksys 610N dual band wireless router; Iogear USB Net ShareStation used to connect printer, scanner, ext hd & ext dvd drive
Home Theater - Sony KDL46XBR10 tv (does not have WI-FI); Sony Blu-ray player with WI-FI

*Just in case I have not made it clear as to my computer connections: My laptop is wirelessly connected to the web and to the peripherals thru the router.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Use a HDMI wireless transmitter you can find them at Amazon.com. I personally have no experience with them so I can't make a recommendation on which one to buy.
