I need help fixing a friend's pc. He got infected with scareware and I tried to help him get rid of it. I found the culprit in the registry and was able to delete the both the bad exe file and the associated startup entry in the registry by using UCBD. I then downloaded and ran both Malwarebytes Antimalware and Superantispyware which found and fixed several other things. The pc is running better now except that periodically it redirects to a different search engine when using google. I checked the host file and it looks fine. I would appreciate any help.

Take a look at IE add-ons...delete/disable all search options other than the default desired.
