I just experienced my first hack. my throw away email was hacked dis-pit having a strong password (according to hotmail). I want to know is there a way to make a bot or something to monitor my email account and if someone sends an email from it the bot logs the ip address of the sender? or at least catch all the emails and notify my that an attempt to send emails was made?

also legal methods would be preferred since I don't think I'd do well in prison if you know what I mean.

Have you ran any anti-malware scans on your computer?

As for the bot, not much you can track if they send the mails via hotmail as the email messages would be coming from a hotmail ip.

I think its hard. and I guess you have virus on your pc. maybe you could use a sniffer to capture your connect to look into pop3 and smtp traffics.
God helps those who help themselves.
