something wrong with yahoo messenger, is it a virus? and i cant uninstall it

last week my computer started going crazy and beeping and when i would restart it my mouse and keyboard wouldnt work and something popped up saying there was a problem with yahoo messenger. well i restarted in safe mode and used system restore and everything was fine. but i installed a new program that i didnt want after that and my computer was still slow after i uninstalled it so i used system restore again but i accidently went back to the date to when my computer was messing up and all the restore points are gone. well i dont know how to uninstall yahoo messenger, i go to uninstall programs and it isnt there what do i do?
