I have been running a malwarebytes scan and it keeps coming up with this rootkit.agent c/windows/systems/driveres/bkyhfzh.sys no matter how many times I quarantine and run the program. I purchased spyware doctor and is not detecting this rootkit. I have done a system restore, but it hasn't helped. I did the Preparation Guide that the Admin of BleepingComputer instructed me to do. I hope this is helpful to anyone that tries to help me. I truly appreciate any help with this matter. THANK YOU!

1.
Please copy the contents of the code box below, open notepad and paste it there. On the top toolbar in notepad select file, then save as. In the box that opens type in remservice.bat for the file name. Right below that click the down arrow in the line for "save as" and select all files. Save this to your desktop and close notepad.

@echo off
sc stop bkyhfzh
sc delete bkyhfzh
del remservice.bat

Hello fireman4it ,

I did everything as instructed in your email, running the combofix, and attached the file. It stated that spybot search and destroy was running, but I had deleted that a while ago from my computer (two weeks ago),
Also, I can't get online unless it is through safe mode? What should I do next?
Thanks! Momof8

When I tried to run the Rootkit Unhooker, after saving it to my desktop, this popped up: Error loading driver NTSTATUS code 0xC00035F,

I just realized that after I save it to my desk top, I can reboot and go to regular mode to run this program, so I will continue with your directions.

I have attached the Report from the rootkit unhooker. I am sorry, but I can not run the BootKit remover, I saved it to my desktop, and it wouldn't run (when I right-clicked there was no Run as Admin) it stated find or save. I went to regular mode and the same problem. When I came back to safe mode, it stated open or save. I tried save and when I double clicked the screen popped up and stated open, when I hit open, it would just repeat itself and continued to pop up.

I finally was able to run the BookKit as Admin in both safe and regular mode, but the screen just came up black with no data to copy, not sure what that means?

Hello,

This rootkit is being a bit tough. We still have many other tools and options left to try.

1.
  • Download The Avenger by Swandog46 from here.
  • Unzip/extract it to a folder on your desktop.
  • Double click on avenger.exe to run The Avenger.
  • Click OK.
  • Make sure that the box next to Scan for rootkits has a tick in it and that the box next to Automatically disable any rootkits found does not have a tick in it.
  • Copy all of the text in the below code box to the clipboard by highlighting it and then pressing Ctrl+C.
    Drivers to delete:bkyhfzhFiles to delete:C:\Windows\system32\drivers\bkyhfzh.sys
  • In the avenger window, click the Paste Script from Clipboard, Posted Image button.
  • Click the Execute button.
  • You will be asked Are you sure you want to execute the current script?.
  • Click Yes.
  • You will now be asked First step completed --- The Avenger has been successfully set up to run on next boot. Reboot now?.
  • Click Yes.
  • Your PC will now be rebooted.
  • Note: If the above script contains Drivers to delete: or Drivers to disable:, then The Avenger will require two reboots to complete its operation.
  • After your PC has completed the necessary reboots, a log should automatically open. If it does not automatically open, then the log can be found at %systemdrive%\avenger.txt (typically C:\avenger.txt).
  • Please post this log, along with a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

2.
Scan With RKUnHooker

  • Please Download Rootkit Unhooker Save it to your desktop.
  • Now double-click on RKUnhookerLE.exe to run it.
  • Click the Report tab, then click Scan.
  • Check (Tick) Drivers, Stealth. Uncheck the rest. then Click OK.
  • Wait till the scanner has finished and then click File, Save Report.
  • Save the report somewhere where you can find it. Click Close.
Copy the entire contents of the report and paste it in a reply here.

Note** you may get this warning it is ok, just ignore
