Hello. I have a small problem. I recently got a new PC. I am using the same DVD rom from my old PC, and I am running Windows XP. I have three DVDs that have my music backup on them. For some reason, My DVD rom drive will not read the discs. I simply want to put the music on my hard drive. The DVD rom drive reads other discs just fine.

Any ideas on why I can't do this? When I insert the DVD, the drive reads no files on the disc.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

The new computer should have came with a DVD Drive so you shouldnt have to be using your older one.

Sorry....I guess I should have specified that the "new" computer is a re-furbished HP Compaq tower. My old comp bit the dust, but it had good peripherals on it. I saved money by reusing some parts. One of them happened to be The DVD-rom drive.

Check for finger prints, and you may need to update the firmware.
