My daughter has just given me her laptop.

It is running Vista, and the login screen is overlaid with a popup saying, "Application cannot be executed. The file recagent.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

When she logs in, that popup remains and there are a host of others - "Infiltration Alert", "ATTENTION! SPYWARE ALERT" and so on. I am invited to activate antivirus software.

This seems to be a fairly obvious Scareware scam.

Can anyone help me, please?
