I'm going to get a second monitor to have a dual-monitor setup, but I could use some advice. My question is whether I should get the exact same model or whether I should get a different brand monitor. I have an HP 2309p right now. What do you think?

Much thanks in advance.

I'm not very knowledgeable in this area, but as far as I know, it shouldn't make any difference. It's all up to personal preference.

The monitors do not need to match.

Just make sure, your video card and a new monitor have same type of ports available.

I use a 32" LCD TV for my primary monitor and I love it. however, it was a bit costly...just something to think about.
