My friend has gotten Antivirus 2010 and I'm trying to help him get rid of it.

He has followed the Bleeping Computer Guide for it, but MBAM closes whenever he starts a scan and therefore can't remove the infection.

This is his school computer, so he REALLY needs the infection gone!

He is running Windows Vista. Below I have his running processes right now, if it helps.

cmd.exe
cmd.exe
csrss.exe
csrss.exe
explorer.exe
igfxsrvc.exe
lsass.exe
lsm.exe
services.exe
smss.exe

System
System Idle Process
taskmgr.exe
unsecapp.exe
wininit.exe
winlogon.exe
WmiPrvSE.exe

Please help me guide him on how to remove this, thanks.

(I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, please move it if needed.)

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
