Dear whiz Kids,

When I restart my computer it requires me to enter my password before it finishes loading windows. This is fine but it means i have to be there. I cant restart and walk away and come back to a fully loaded windows. It is annoying cause I dont need a password, there is just my family here and it is mostly a games machine, nothing confidential on it.

Can I eliminate the use of a password?

Expectantly

Constantine

Hi Constantine,

Remove Login Password

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security Settings/Minimum Password Length/Reduce it to 0 (No password required). Control Panel/User Account/Your Account/Remove Password.

"What's in a name..." (Nickname in this instance)

'tis but the sound of one hand clapping.

An enigma...
