I have heard Android phones are the best. but i have no experience with Androids.
I have had more experience with Symbians. And I must say, I feel they are really slow.
I'm currently using the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. The software in that phone is average. not slow and not fast. It does however have this thing where it can sometimes shut off randomly.

So i'm thinking of a new phone. one of them is an Android OS v2.1 (Eclair). The HTC Legend has this OS. the other is the Nokia N8 which now has an upgrade symbian called "Symbian^3 OS".
I have no idea which one is good. What are the ups and downs between these OS?

if you want to compare the fones, here they are:

What do you guys think?

I've got Elcair on my Samsung Moment and while it does stutter sometimes I believe that has more to do with the lack of RAM vs other Android phones (I have 256mb others have 512mb). No real issues with adjusting to using the OS even though this is my first "smartphone". Nokias are very hard to find in the american phone market now they used to be the only phones one could get now getting your hands on one is near impossible.

Yeah I always thought of android as the second OS to the iPhone Feature wise. Performance wise it is much better than any nokia with symbian on it, And the only other OS that I have found to be better than all of those is my Blackberry (I love my Blackberry!!)

Currently running eclair on my Samsung Galaxy. Will wait for the frozen yogurt update set for my phone come November.

Its like having an Iphone with the same feel, but can do more. Hardware is better than the iphone as well.

As of Symbian, its still a solid OS but, I think we are in for a more powerfull computing/mobile experience with android in the very very very near future.

Oh by the way, as of mobile OS comparison, Android is outselling Iphones right now.

So there.
Hardware tech when I was in college.
1st job was a network support for SOHO
2nd job was lappy tech
3rd Job way out of my league but its nice...

You better wait for a while!. Maybe you have heard that new Nokia smart phone will use Windows OS and not Symbian anymore.

Android all the way. Symbian is not much widely customizable as android is. Also you can always root and update your device to the latest (froyo or gingerbread. not sure about honeycomb)
