IE8 getting re-directed and MSSE Not responding

Hi,
I have Windows 7 with MS Secuity Essentials installed.
Also using IE8.
I have found viuses that have mostly been cleared - but, still some unresolved issues.
I can't get MSSE to run (It does appear to run in processes)
Also, I am now getting redirected when using IE8
