Hi guys, I haven't been here in a year or so and the last time I was here you guys helped me immensely so I am very thankful. The last time I had a computer that wouldn't start, and you guys showed me how to do the recovery thing and it worked. I am on that very computer right now and all is well! However, my parents have the same model of computer and now they are having restart problem. I tried to do the recovery thing, and bootcfg /default, I turned off automatic restarting, and it still didn't boot the login. After I turned off auto restart it gave me this error code

"windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135"

I was even gonna try to use the linux guide you guys gave me a year ago to save files from the harddrive just in case I had reformat, but it froze after all the booting and whatnot. If I can get the computer to start so I can get in there and run my virus programs, spybot s&d, spy sweeper or whatever and clean it out like I did with the computer I am on now, that would be great instead of losing all my data and reinstalling windows.

someone told me to try this:

You may also try before the repair install the following also.
"Reboot, this time taking the immediate R option, and if the CD letter is say K: give these commands

COPY K:\i386\ntldr C:\
COPY K:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\

but I haven't yet, I would rather get assistance from you guys first.

Yes, that could work. Since you are replacing the corrupted windows files with the fresh copy.

Please keep in mind that it may not work.

ok i'm gonna try it in the next few hours and report back, but I wanted to clarify instead of the "K" letter it should be "D" for the cd drive right?

One of the common reasons for this is a lack of .Net Framework. If you don't have this installed you may want to try installing it.

ok I just tried these

COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\
COPY D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\

and only the second one worked. it said it couldnt find the first one on my recovery disc

I also made it do the error code again and it is the same, at the top I noticed this though

STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}

otherwise it keeps doing the same restarting over and over.

Try performing a chkdsk /r on the drive.

Can you boot up in Safe Mode via hitting F8 after the bios splash screen?

I already did the chkdsk /r C: code like 3 times. I guess I can try it again...

And no I cant go into safe mode, I probably would have run smitfraud or something if I could

You may have to perform a repair install of your OS then.

Is it the repair disk or a recovery disk?
