I keep getting this message when starting windows.

lsass.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

It started a couple of days ago after my neice was on the internet (No idea what she downloaded).
Everytime I hit Cancel (or Try again or Continue for that matter) it just keeps reappearing.

I have tried restarting with the Last Known Good Configeration but no change.
The only way I can get rid of it is to end the process but this only works until I restart.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Also running full paid version of AVG

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi delbrugge,
Thanks for the help.
Malwarebytes picked up 4 nasty little Trojans that snuck past AVG.
1 of them was affecting the lsass.exe file

Hooray no more probs!! (for now) :flowers:

Thanks again.

When we had that error message: There is no disk please insert disk into Drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR1 - the problem was that Windows 7 thought our HP usb photo printer was that drive whenever we plugged it into any of the usb ports on the laptop. When we unplugged the printer the error message disappeared.
