So every time I start the computer I get "MskDetct.exe--application error. The instruction at 0x7c80979d referenced memory at 0x0019f050. The memory could not be 'written'" I can make the message go away and the computer works fine, but is there any way to get rid of the message at startup or fix whatever the problem is?

Are you using McAfee's SpamKiller? If so try uninstalling and then reinstalling it.

Thanks. I'll give it a try when I get home where the installation CD is.
