Ok...
The title speaks for itsef, but here's my story
I let my friend on my comp recently (I'll never do THAT again) and the next day I get on
I see that my theme was changed to Windows Classic. I say "Ok, I'll just change it back."
Not that easy, all my themes have been locked except for the classic one. Then I think back
and notice that I didn't hear my comp's welcome music either. I looked in my tray and noticed
that my audio has been disabled and I can't go in it. Then I tried to see what the people of the net
had to say about it. But it turned out that my internet has been cut (wired/wireless).
Who ever made this one HAD TO have a bad day or somethin. Does anyone have a solution to my dilema?
I would really appreciate the help.

EDIT: Btw, I'm using Windows 7 HP, 64 Bit, AMD Phenom II X4 810 Quad Core Processor
Any other info needed? Let me know.

Have you rebooted? I know it seems trivial, but sometimes trying the obvious first works.

It almost sounds like you are in Safe Mode... What is safe mode? In Safe Mode, all visual effects are disabled (i.e. you can't change themes), and only basic drivers are loaded (sound, Wi-Fi, etc. are usually disabled).

I would suggest using System Restore and restore your system to a time before your 'friend' borrowed it.

*Sigh*
I hate that safe mode question. Lol
But no... if it was safe mode I would be the happiest man alive right now.

Attaching might be hard because i'm using my ps3. But i'll try. If it doesn't work i'll just copy word for word.

EDIT: My Sys. Restore is disabled too! Wow... i can only factory reset. That's my plan Z

Well...you have a system that's of little value to you...if you don't go to Plan Z, as I see it.

My guess (strictly that) would be malware, but...we have a glut of malware situations. I could do the factory restore and reinstall everything in 2-3 days.

If you go that route...remove the hard drive, attach it as a secondary to another system...retrieve valued data files.

I would do that anyway...before proceeding in any direction.

I thought of that... but it's plan Z (the last thing I wanna do)
I usually have my stuff backed up. But I recently dropped my
external HD (whoops lol) rendering it useless. Plus... if I were
to back up my stuff, whos to say none of that was infected
and the problem re-occurs? Then it would be all for nothing...

If you think that your system is infected...this post belongs in a different forum.

Please advise and I will move it.

Note that, IMO...any number of things (PSU, hard drive, etc) can create the symptoms you have thus far described.
