I managed to post a tech problem to the Win XP forum (admins, please feel free to get in touch with me if that wasn't supposed to happen and I'll tell you how to repro).

I get the impression though, that we're supposed to come here and say hello before posting anything substantive elsewhere, so...

Hi.

I'm a Java programmer by trade, although I much prefer to use computers for what they were meant to be: toys, not computing machines.

I'm about to do an implementation of MythTV using an old Dell, Linux and a TV card. Homebrewed multimedia servers are way better than Tivo. Now tell me that's not more fun than migrating Java 1.4 collections to version 5. ;)
