Hello. I have spent the last two days working on a neighbour's laptop which has been directing her to random websites, running scans on her files and the giving the BSOD.

I played around on the internet until the file scanning started and it said it was Antivirus 2010, which I looke up on my computer and seems to fit.

She hadn't got any anti virus (or anything) installed, so I installed avast 5. I managed to get spyhunter4 to load and run and it pulled up 140 infections, including DyFuCa, which I removed. I hope this accounts for the random websites. I downloaded malaware on my computer, saved it on my stick, got it onto her desktop and finally got it to install and run in safe mode. I ran it once, found 3 files, updated it, then ran it again and only pulled up one. I have now booted up in normal mode and it is willing to run (I am hoping this is a good sign). It is scanning at the moment.

My big worry is that it hasn't pulled any of the antivirus 2010 files I have been expecting it to. I can't find anything in the processes or on the C: drive but am sure that it is antivirus 2010 as the wording on the BSOD is exactly as people in various forums have described.

I would be very grateful for any help and advice.

Thank you
