At least SP2 is required to support wireless on XP.

Once you have SP2 installed you should be all set for wireless.

On a fresh install you will need to go to the manufacturers website and download any drivers that are not native to Windows.

i have no idea how to do that. i just got this thing this afternoon. some step by step directions would be extremely helpful if one of you wouldn't mind. i just would like to get this thing wireless ASAP. right now i have a long ass ethernet cable and thats what im using, but i cant take it out of the house. before i installeed a new os there was a wireless symbol on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and you could right click it and it would show available connections.

Go Start -> Run... and type devmgmt.msc to bring up your device manager.

You should find at least one device with a yellow question mark. Look for the one that looks like it could be your wireless card and double-click on it.

In the device Properties dialog, Under the "Details" tab, scroll down to Hardware Ids.

Take a screen shot, or type out the hardware ids that this device has and post it here. That will let us determine what kind of driver you need.

Download and install Unknown Device Identifier. This tool can help us identify your missing hardware drivers. After it analyzes the devices on your system you will see a report. Click File -> Save and save the file to your desktop.

Attatch the DeviceList.txt you saved to your desktop in your next reply.
