the info on the ram is in the speccy file .the main type to look for is,512 meg sodimm PC2100 (133 MHz), once you post the make and model of the laptop people will know for sure but my guess is it will only support 1 gig ,2x512Ok I will follow those instructions. Can I upgrade my ram? Will that help? How do I know what to buy and how to do it myself.

I would get another 512Meg Stick of RAM your video card uses 64megabytes dedicated RAM for itself. It does not share RAM with the system ram.
