Should I be concerned?
I have this issue with my IE browser.
Whenever I close the browser, an hourglass pops up like there is something running afterwards. It is there for a second or two. It really bothers me because it looks like a program running. Is this a cause for concern? Is this a form of tracking, like perhaps cookies are being sent somewhere. I use Google.

It's very possible that your computer is doing one of a few things that come to mind.

:trumpet: It could be IE deleting your browsing history upon Exit
:flowers: It could be IE working with your temporary internet files and deleting unneeded files
 It could also be some form of malware

If you would like to check for malware, please read the topic here and follow the instructions for posting in the Am I Infected Forum.

Hope this helps,

It could also be some kind of BHO you have installed like a toolbar or whatnot which is taking time to close out. Are you using IE8?
