Hello all. I hope I am doing this correctly.

I know I have a browser hijacker because my screen suddenly jumps from what I am doing on the 'net to pictures of folks sucking on each other's body parts. So I ran hijack this, intending to find a forum and get someone to help me with HT's results. But the first thing that happened was that HT told me that it could not write to my hosts file. Following were instructions as to how to open and clean the file myself. Then HT went ahead with its log.

I followed HT's instructions but instead of a file with lines that actually pertained to something on my computer, I got some sort of "sample" hosts file that I am sure is not what HT meant.

So now I have 2 problems. I have saved everything regarding the "hosts" problem and I also have the HT log.

Can anyone help me?

I will be so grateful.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include the link to this topic in your new topic and a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Once you have created the new topic, please reply back here with a link to the new topic.
