I am having the same issue, cannot find my windows disk (i know i have it but i am in the middle of moving :0 ) i followed your instructions to burn rc.iso to a cd, and booted from the cd, but it ultimately goes to a Blue Screen that will not boot.
I have Windows XP Media Center

Are you sure, you booted from the CD?
How far did it go?

Your error usually means some hard drive issue....

Also make sure that the BIOS is configured so that the CD-ROM is the first device in the boot order, otherwise it won't boot from the CD.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
