I am using windows 7 starter edition on my dell netbook, but find the icons a little large, with XP its simply a matter of reducing the number size in advanced settings (display properties-appearence-advanced-item) but how do you do this with 7 starter ?

I have already used the icon size set to small, but find them not small enough.

Thanks.

The mouse wheel works well for me, just make sure you refresh your desktop when done. Right click desktop and refresh.

Mouse Wheel Method
The option to select from only three available sizes wasn’t satisfying enough, so I found another method. Make sure the desktop has the focus, just click anywhere on the desktop before starting this process. Press & hold Ctrl on the keyboard, Scroll with the mouse wheel up or down to get the desired size

Please explain ''Make sure desktop has the focus'' Right or Left click ?

Left click once on the desktop to give it focus.
