im after losing sound after a virus(its clean now virus gone) its not my computer but they said that the sound did work.I'm after checking the drivers and they seem fine.I'm after doing all the checks( I think) My question is in sound and device properties is under Audio and sound playback , the default setting is realtex HD audio. I was thinking should that not be sigma tel? Maybe its the sound card. thanks Its a Toshiba satellite A100-062 Model numder PSAANE-03GOODEN. Thanks

I put in zeros in my first post. I say its the letter o(if that makes sense!!). So hopefully its psaane-03GooDEN . Thanks for the help.

I'm looking at the back of the Toshiba laptop as i write this. Satellite A100-062
Model number PSAANE -03G00DEN
I cant seem to find it on the Toshiba site.

I went in and downloaded the second one down windows xp driver only (zip file) R2.52 update 2010/9/6 . Also I have a realtek high def Audio driver here is a list of drivers under sound in device manager

Audio codecs
legacy audio drivers
leagacy video capture devices
media control devices
realtek high def Audio
video codecs
They all seem to be working

Download the executable and install it.

I Downloaded the executable and installed it.Still no sound. Now that its installed should there be more in the device manager?Thanks again for the help

If you have no sound check to see if its muted in the sound options.

Crytodan no sounds not muted and in advanced audio properties its set as desktop speakers.I alao tried earphones. No joy
