Over the past weeks my internet explorer sometimes fails to connect to requested web pages, and is even worse if i use internet shopping, i get to the final page to complete my order and after a few seconds i get Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage, so all is lost, on some occasions explorer as completed the order and i have ended up ordering twice.

I am hoping that this will get through without hickup, but the usual thing that happens when i press send is the page telling me :Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Any help please ?

EDIT : This time it worked, 1 in 5 times it doesnt.

How do you get online?

Can you do the following:

Start > Run > type in cmd in the black box that comes up type in ipconfig /all >> c:\ipconfig.txt and then navigate to c: open up the new text document and copy and paste the contents you see in a new reply to this topic.

Let's start by resetting Internet Explorer to it's default configuration.

At the moment it appears to be working ok (fingers crossed)
I went into 'tools' - internet options - advanced - reset to default

Thanks for your help, will see how it goes.

Being unable to post can be a sign of a malware infection. You might be infected. Can you do the ipconfig /all and post the results?

It sounds like it was failing when you tried to submit a POST request to a http server. This can happen if you are using a proxy server that does not support POST. If you reset your internet explorer configuration and it started working, this may be because the reset removed the proxy server from the configuration.

I would start a thread in the malware forum and post the requested logs, as you likely have a malware infection if a proxy server was set and you didn't set it up.
