fake internet virus

i received a fake maessage -your computer is being attacked by an inter virus. it could be a password-stealing attack ,a troan - dropper or similar

and i don't use internet explorer but that'swhat seems to be the source of the infection, internet explorer pops up every 30 mins with pornsography and viagra ads.
what to do? help me pls
