I believe my computer is infected with a rather nasty virus that is a little scary. It started redirecting Google searches after I received a popup for a scan or security program that I just closed without paying too much attention to it. Later Russian language comments appeared on a site. There were occasional new tabs opening on firefox for random sites, one that attempts to look like a facebook site of some sort. Speed ground to a near halt, with occasional lock ups. Today it seems to have gone somewhat dormant but I am sure it is lurking in there. I tried running spyware doctor when it first began the redirects, but it did not seem to do any good as they continued. I am running an old desktop with WindowsXP. (My kids have all the good stuff!) Any help would be appreciated.
