Hi - I am new to this forum and unfortunately not super tech savvy. I can follow instructions, etc but I'm not familiar with some of the more detailed things like checking host logs, etc...

I had been trying to troubleshoot this problem on my own given the advice I read on here but now realize (I think?!) that it is important to get someone's oversight?

I had followed someone else's particular instructions and have done this so far:

1. Restarted in safemode
Renamed and ran my Malwarebytes
Found 1 problem, corrected it...restarted, still having the redirect problem.

2. Was told to download combofix
Read the entire instructions on here,
Temporarily Disabled my Avast Security,
Tried to open/run combofix but it wouldn't open/run...??

Any help would be appreciated - thank you!!

Hello,

It is not wise to follow someone else's malware removal instructions, doing so is akin to having surgery done on yourself because someone else had it done.

2. Was told to download combofix

By who?

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
