slow task bar load

Hi All,
i am using laptop with window vista home premium,i found that when i on the laptop,the task bar on the bottom of the lap top load slowly ,i mean it appears after 5 minutes,even my window display load quite fast.Besides this the items on the start menu also take some times to open.Why like this?Is anyone can help me!

Have you tried running the chkdsk /r command...and defragging after that?

Disorderly files may tend to make Windows respond in the manner thus described, IMO.

Can you create another account via user accounts in control panel and see if it does it under the new account?
