My computer has been infected several times. I finally seem to have it 'all cleaned up' and working smoothly. ...There is one program I can not remove "Ad-aware 6 Personal". When I go to control panel, add remove -- I get the following message: Wise Unistall, could not open INSTALL.LOG FILE ?

What is this program? Is it harmful? Does it get downladed 'mixed in with other bad stuff'?

It's antispyware tool, but that version is well outdated, ca. 2003/2004
Try free version of Revo Uninstaller: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninst...e_download.html

I dowloaded and used that program, it removed Ad-aware in minutes. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!

It looks like there are some other helpful features in the revo program -- a 'general clean up', so to speak. Do you use a uninstaller for anything else? ...or should I be careful if my computer skills (on the technical side) are minimal?

I'm glad to see, it worked.

Generally, Revo should be used only, if normal uninstalling methods don't work.
Keep it as an emergency tool.
