My friend received a Media Windows Player Video from a download and is not able to open it, I think it opens and she sees a bunch of numbers.

Will a Mac open this ?

P.S. I found something goggling, . . be back !

"One way to do what you want is to download and install Flip4Mac, which will allow you to play Windows media on your Mac. Visit this site for the download:

http://flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm

You can also download and install Windows Media Player version 9.0 from Microsoft's site. Even though this version is very old (Microsoft doesn't support WMP on the Mac anymore), it still works as a last resort. Visit this site for the download:"

Yes but the one thing Flip4Mac has over both of those is it integrates into any web browser that runs on a mac.

I can play it just fine with Flip4mac installed. What do you mean by this:

I dwnld'ed Flip4Mac and am trying to open it, and of course, it won't open.

Do you mean the DMG wont open or the programs installer wont start?

Ask her to right click on the wmv file > Get Info and see what is listed under Open With:
