cant get internet to work. windows 7

ok i had this computer hooked up to internet at 2 diffrent locations. first time with no problem 2 time i tryed to hook up the same router / modom? ( i think its a router. its for hooking up 4 computer???) and i changed all sorts of stuff trying to run both computer well didnt work at that place and we just used the one wire between the 2 computer. unplug one to use the other. now i moved agan and just had broadband hooked up and the computer will not hook up to internet. my other computer with XP hooked right up but the computer with windows 7 wont. just running from the modom.

any help geting this computer online please. maybe the seting are not right??

Try this. Open Device Manager and see if there are any red x's or yellow flags next to your network adapter. Next, open a command prompt, Windows Key + R, type cmd and then type the following without the quotes and paste all the results back here, "ipconfig /all". Also check, open IE, click Tools, Internet Options, Connection Tab and then the LAN Tab and in the window that opens make sure that all the check boxes are clear, if not clear them and close IE and re-open IE.

dont ask me how but after rehooking the internet wire back to this computer the dang internet just all of a sudden started working. i had unhooked and rehooked it a million times and unpluged the modem a million times then some how it just worked.

thanks for trying to help now lets hope it stays working.
