I used Anonymizer as a proxy for a couple of years - then decided to stop paying for it. I haven't seen any increase in any of the problems that it could cause.

If you've got my IP, that's all you've got. If I have decent protection on my system, you shouldn't be able to do anything essential with it. I've had a number of attacks on my system (because I was running an FTP server), but they never got in. BUT, being just a lone point on the internet - you won't attract the big attention that gets people hit with DDOS attacks.

Keep a low profile and you're not a worthwhile target!
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.
