After noticing chronic redirects, attempts at mailing out of spam messages and a disabling of malwarebytes (which I can run if I change the name), I ran a full Norton Antivirus scan in safe mode. It told me I have Backdoor.Tidserv.I!inf and even where: in c:\windows\system32\drivers\serial. However, Norton says it must be removed manually, and the Symantec site is very little help.
I restored an older registry and I'm running GMER (it's taking awhile). I can run Hijackthis, too. Please just let me know what you need and I will be happy to post it. This computer is my livelihood, and I'm anxious about losing it.
