Hi All,

Today suddenly, I can't open malwarebytes or combofix. The computer seems to be working fine. Maybe a little slow, but not bad. When I click the icons for malwarebytes or combo fix, it just sits there. I tried reinstalling but to no avail.

I haven't tried sys restore yet. It's peculiar cause my avg and ccleaner work fine.

I'd give that a try. 5 mins. Go back a few days and see if they work there.

I restored to 2 days ago and it didn't fix the problem. Maybe something embedded in the memory?

I would try to rename combofix and see if it runs. If not download it again and see if that one runs.
I'd also reinstall mbytes.

sounds like you may have a file association issue. I would try to use a reg file to reset .exe file association and then try to run mbam again.

also, have you confirmed that all required mbam files ( the exe, service, etc) are intact in mbam's installation directory? if you find that stuff is missing after you just reinstalled that would generally point to malware.
