I have numerous antispyware programs which can of course be set to run on at a scheduled time each day
(MS Antispyware, Spysweeper, Ewido Security Suite, etc.)

These sometimes overlap with my scheduled daily antivirus sweep.

Is it safe to have the antivirus sweep running while simultaneously having an antispyware sweep running?

I can't say. I never thought about doing that. I have mine set to start running staggered between 02:00-07:00hrs.. I just leave my compter on. If you are not getting error messaged I guess it's OK. Althought I did think I read in AVG, Spybot, and AdAware to have minimal programs running for best effect. As a matter of fact the best way to run them is in safe mode. I do that once a month or so.
