I am experiencing the Google results re-direct issue that seems to be a common problem. It has been happening often that links on a Google results page following a search lead not to what is intended, but instead to erroneous pages like cell phone deals, questionable search engines, advertisements etc.

I am running Windows XP and browsing with Firefox 3.6.10

Funny thing is, I have repeatedly run McAfee VirusScan 8.7.0i, Spybot S&D, Hitman Pro 3.5, etc. and none have indicated a virus or malware problem.

Any suggestions or assistance would be very much appreciated.

I was getting redirection and SVCHOST processes taking up 100% of CPU. Ran ComboFix and it resolved the issue.
