I'm going to abuse my authority here and shamelessly spam* for a moment...
So, I've been playing a game called Minecraft for about a week now and I wanted to post about just how awesome it is. It's hard to describe what, exactly, Minecraft is. It's part Legos, part sandbox, part physics sim, part RPG, and a few other things I can't think of at the moment.
What I like about it most, though, is that you're basically limited only by your imagination as to what you end up building in the game. One guy built a fully functional 16 bit ALU inside the game. Take a look at the video he made, it will give you an idea of what I'm raving about:
There's a free version, which is limited somewhat, and the paid version which will set you back $10. There are versions for Mac, Windows, and Linux.
PS Minecraft has been around for at least a year, but it recently exploded onto the internet. As such, the poor developer's website is under continuous heavy load at the moment and may be intermittently unavailable.
*I'm not connected to the developer or getting paid or anything
