I have a problem. I got spysherrif and other stuff like the azesearch bar and I have tried a threat on here and was only able to find a couple of the things to delete that I was suppose to. I have spybot s&d and I also have adaware along with eTrust antivirus running and they are solving some problems but not all. I still have these 3 red circles at the bottom and I can't use my internet explorer. Here is my log from HijackThis.

Hello,

It's better to print out the next instructions or save them in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

First of all, you didn't unzip/extract hijackthis.. and it's still in the tempfolder.
So I strongly advise to unzip/extract hijackthis.zip.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/xpcompressedexplanation.html
Create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted.
How do you make a permanent folder:

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files.
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.

I see you have Kontiki installed, This program uses random named Browser Helper Objects and may download additional software without permission.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select if found the Kontiki entry and click remove.

Download smitRem and save the file to your desktop.
Doubleclick it and choose install. This will create a new folder on your desktop with the name smitrem.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following if still present:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = c:\secure32.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = c:\secure32.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = c:\secure32.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = c:\secure32.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\secure32.html

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\paytime.exe
C:\WINDOWS\tool2.exe
C:\Program Files\Serials3k <== folder (this is the cause of all your problems)
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00001.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00001.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00002.dll

* Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

* Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

* Now open Ewido Security Suite
Click on scanner

* Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
* When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
* Save the report to your desktop

* Close Ewido

* Go to start > control panel > Display properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop... > Web tab > uncheck and delete everything you find in there. (except for "My current home page")

* Reboot back into Windows.

* Perform an onlinescan with panda: (please use this scanner instead of any other scanner!)
Panda Online
- Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
- A new window will open...click the Check Now button
- Enter your Country
- Enter your State/Province
- Enter your e-mail address and click send
- Select either Home User or Company
- Click the big Scan Now button
- If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
- It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
- When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
- When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.
Post the contents of the Panda scan report, along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of smitfiles.txt which is present on your Homedrive (C:\ in most cases) and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.

Extra step..

I want to know what it is, so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlbyaudio.exe

Click submit and let it scan.
Post the results also in your next reply.

It could be possible, after reboot that your system is using the windows classic theme again.
To restore this and set it back to XP-theme, rightclick on your desktop > properties > tab Appearances and choose Windows XP style again under windows and buttons.
Click apply and OK.

well I got the part where is said to do the online scan, but now my computer doesnt have any local area connections and it say "The network connections folder was unable to retrieve the list of network adapters on your machine. Please make sure the the network connections service is enabled and running." However, I can not find where to enable it. Plus my firewall and stuff won't even pull up. Also I dont have any of the program windows on the taskbar. I can post all the logs that you told me if this would help.

Yes, please post the logs I asked you.

Did you remove anything I didn't ask you to remove? If you're computer doesn't have an internet connection now.. I suppose you're posting this from another computer? Or are you only having problems with connecting to the Panda-site? If so, please perform next:

* Download: Hoster
Unzip hoster to an own folder, eg C:\Hoster
Start Hoster.exe, click 'Restore Original Hosts' and click OK.

I only removed what you said to and nothing more. I am posting this off another computer because I have no internet connection present on mine. When I open up the network connections page, it is blank and will not let me add a new connection. This is also not allowing me to open my windows firewall settings.

Your C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe is gone!
Did you delete that one? That's a legit file and you really need it to keep your system stable. That explains why you're having so many problems now...

Can you please tell me what happened? You did delete that one, didn't you?

Do you have your original XP cd? Because we're going to need it.
Please let me know.

I dont recall deleting it, I just did everything that you said to do on your first post. Yes, I have the XP pro disk. So where do we go from here.

That's odd, I didn't ask you to delete it though... maybe you found some instructions on the net where they explained how to get rid of the Spyaxe messages (because I think you're dealing with it as well) and it said you had to delete svchosts.dll and you deleted svchost.exe instead. Seen some other do this as well unfortunately..

Ok, go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:

sfc /scannow

Click Ok.

This will scan for corrupted and missing files on your system and repair them if present in your dllcache folder. If not, it will ask for you XP cd.

Let it finish the job and reboot.
Post a new hijackthislog in your next reply.

I ran that thing like you said, but it never asked me for the disk and obviously the file is still missing from my computer. So what do I try now?

That is odd......
I think the best solution is to perform a repair install. You do not have to wipe your partition and start over. Just as with previous versions of Windows you can reinstall right over top of an existing setup. This has the advantage of retaining your installed applications, data and settings. You will lose previously saved System Restore Points but System Restore will begin creating new restore points again immediately following the Repair Install. You will need to reinstall SP2 and any Critical Updates from the Windows Update Site.
Look here for detailed instructions:

FINALLY!!!! I am up and running once again. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all the help. I just have a couple little problems now. For some reason when I try to click on another window on the bottom it takes like 5-6 click for that program to open up again. Also, my computer seems to be running a little slower than before, anything to take care of that prob?
