Howdy,

Something has gone wrong. My computer has been working fine all day up until about an hour ago. I tried to make a post on a site I was on when all of a sudden everything slowed down. It took 5 minutes for the post to show up on the forum. I went to another site and had the same trouble.

As a side note, just prior to the computer slowing down I had sounds coming out of my speakers. It sounded like a pin ball machine. Boing, boing, boing and then my printer made noises as if I had turned it on.

I decided to restart. When I did the dell logo showed for a second and then the screen went black and had a white light (cursur)flashing in the top left corner of the screen. About 10 minutes later Windows started to load. That took at least 5 minutes. I then connected to the Internet. That took at least another 5 and then another 5 to get on this site. When I clicked on the XP forum and then new topic that took at least 10 minutes. By the way the speakers and printer just made the same noises.

This morning I ran Microsoft Essentials, Malwarebytes and SAS and they all came up clean.

I have XP Home, SP-3, 8

I am trying to add everything I can think of to this post since it takes so long to get it up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I don't answer right back, I am trying but waiting on this computer.

Thanks for your time,

Dennis

Please perform the following, so that we can get the exact specs of your computer. This will better assist us in helping you more.

Publish a Snapshot using Speccy

The computer is a Dell Pc Optiplex 170L model.

My brother-in law gave it to me after mine went bad last month. He took the hard drive out of my old one and added it to this one. So I have 2 hard drives. I think combined I have 2gb with 500 ram.

When I did a did a defrag yesterday it said I had about 47 % space on c-drive and 7o% space on e drive.

I also wanted to mention that the only thing I downloaded today was a update to Adobe flash.

I am downloading that spec program now.

Thanks

You copy it to clipboard then simply paste it in a new reply.

Sorry I will try it again. I thought that was what I did in the above post ??

I will run it again and see how it goes. By the way the link you posted is no longer good. If you would post it again I will try to follow the instructions more carefully.

I am now using my wifes laptop so I can reply faster so long as I don't have to do something on mine.

Not to get off track but this laptop is WiFi and connected to the modem for my PC. This site is extremely slow yet others are very fast. Is my haveing BC on my PC slowing this one down since they are both on the same site.

Thanks

cryptodan,

I tried to copy and paste from clipboard and it would not work.
As a side note I have my 'sick' PC on as I use this laptop but not connected to the Internet. This site is really hanging up on me. Very slow.

Other sites have slowed down also when the PC is on. Do you suppose I have a virus on the PC that is eating up my bandwith ????

Any suggestions. Thanks

PS
I tried to strta in safe mode on the PC and it would not work. So far I have run Malwarebytes and SAS and they were clean.

The logs should be saved in the program via the Logs Tabs
