I have Windows 7 brand new. I got all new drivers for my computer too. The audio card is old though. I have surround sound speakers but the audio input didn't have the right plug-ins for them, only the green one. Then i downloaded some software and now can use all my surround sound speakers. However, from the start I've been having bsh noises (that is just what it sounds like, i can't really explain it that well) when listening to music for example. I heard that if i go into the audio mixer from the icon in the lower right corner and mute system sounds it would stop but the didn't help. I know it's a Hardware problem because i haven't had this computer long enough to get malware and hopefully Norton is protecting good. Not much other information i can think of that would be handy but thank you for help ahead-of time.

Under the Enviroment option in your sound manager check None...
