I used to have an old Nvidia Geforce 7600GS (PCI-E) on my computer, but that died, so now I'm using my mobo's onboard video, which is an ATI Radeon HD 4200 chip. It uses 512MB of memory, and also uses about 3% of the CPU. So is that why it says "3.50GB usable" in Windows, because of the onboard video? I just bought a Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of memory, so I can't wait for that to arrive.

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
AMD Athlon II X2 250 @ 3.1Ghz. (dual core) Socket AM3
4GB (4x 1GB's :D ) DDR2 memory.
320GB SATA HDD @7200RPM
Gigabyte GA-MA-785GM motherboard.
Antec 550W PSU
Hardware: The parts of a computer that can be kicked.

I assume "Hardware Reserved- 516MB" is the onboard video chip right?

Eyesee- Thanks! It'll be a huge improvement. My CPU should be fast enough for most games right? I'm just talking Half Life 2, Portal, Bioshock, Flight Simulator X, etc. By the way, that GPU is on sale for $139.99 on Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102873

I still think it's hilarious that I have 4GB of RAM, but I"m using four 1GB sticks. They're pretty. Blue heat spreaders.

Those are VERY old games so they will run fine on that.

They're not that old. Not as old as the first Half-Life, which is a fantastic game. The 7600GS couldn't handle any of those games.
