When I defrag my computer (running Vista Home Premium 32 bit) with defraggler I keep seeing a file called C:\$Extend\$UsnJrnl:$J that has 66 fragments and is over 5gb in size. The file won't defrag and I'm wondering if it should really require 5+ gigs of disk space. I'm getting ready to clone my hard drive and I don't want to transfer any unnecessary garbage if I can help it. Is this something I can get rid of?? Thanks!!

I was able to clear out these files by running "fsutil usn deletejournal /n c:". They still show up on defrag but the size is stated as only a couple of meg instead of 5+gb. Got ready to move everything over to my new hard drive and realized that I don't have an extra SATA cable! Ordered a couple this morning so I guess I'll get to it this week sometime. Thanks for the info.
