Hey so I had a version of that AntiVirus2010 virus mixed with something else. Disabled command prompt, taskmgr, and pretty much everything else. So anyway, I booted into Safemode with networking and ran Combofix. That seemed to get rid of it when I booted back up normal, but now I can't connect to the internet for the most part. Programs such as steam and some others still can connect but firefox and anything that uses port 80, DNS ports, etc. won't connect. Avast and Spybot Search and Destroy both come up clean. No windows firewall is turned on.

Not quite sure how to fix this. Plus it seems the virus changed some settings in my IE as far as search engines go and at first disabled my avast.

Virus appears gone but left destruction behind. What do I do?

I have Windows XP Home on that box.

Try this--open control, internet options, connections tab, lan settings, uncheck the box next to "use proxy...."
OR
Go to Start ... Run and type in cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
Click on the enter key.

Reboot your system to complete the process.

Ok. I did both of those things. There was no proxy selected in both IE and Firefox. And I rebooted after the command.

No luck though. Still doesn't work. When I try to go to any webpage in IE or Firefox says "Server not found".

NM on this, the thing did more damage now I see. Just going to do a windows repair or reinstall. It's about time for one of those anyways.

Thanks anyway for the help!
