Just trying to figure out why my internet has been so slow the past few day. Pages are loading very slow and I cant play any online games without constant lag and disconnections. Any advice would be much appreciated, hopefully its not malware. If needed I can give a log from HighJackThis. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Moved topic from Win 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Can you do the speed tests and post the images here? Do about 3 to 4 so I can get a rough average.

You should be getting more then that. What plan do you have?

I would try power cycling your modem which means unplugging it and waiting a minute or two then plug it back in.

Call up comcast you are getting about half of your speed download wise and about 40% of your up speed.

This forum can't fix the problem. You have to contact your ISP.

With numbers like that, even if they show you are only getting a fraction of the speed ComCast may have quoted you in your plan, you should have little or no browsing trouble. How many add-ons are running and in what browser.

Also, isn't ComCast one of the ISP's that throttle connections if they show heavy use, i.e. bittorents etc.

10m+ on the downside and .4 up really should give you a nice browsing experience. I feel that something else is either slowing your browser down or maybe your whole computer.

If you would like to compare, try Firefox and Chrome or Safari if you haven't already. A comparison between browsers might answer a few questions.
