Hello

I will try to explain this as best as I can. I have high speed internet thru my cable company, started having problems with my computer and its ability to connect to the net. My net provider replaced my modem and told me if still is doing it, that I might have a virus. Ok here it the problem, When I am on the internet, my internet connection just stops, everything seems fine but I cannot connect. When I start up my computer in the morning same thing, the only way I can get my internet connected is to restart the modem. My laptop how ever does not seem to have this problem when I connect it to the modem. So what i would like to know is there something wrong with my Ethernet adapter, or could I have a virus of some kind the my virus protection did not get?? Please if some one could help me, this is getting very frustrating.

Thanks Ivan

Are you using a router at all?

Or do you have both computers using a direct connection to the modem?

Nope no router, I use a peer to peer sometimes with the Laptop. I hooked the Laptop to the Modem and got the same thing as with the desktop!

So both the laptop and the desktop are unable to get online directly connecting to the modem?

Have you updated the drivers on the computer with the issues?

Tired that and the computer went nuts on me. Had to do a system restore. I even deleted the drivers and tried that way, same results!

then there is an issue with the ethernet port, and you need to replace it.
